Moments after the announcement of a deal signed between President Kibaki and ODM’s Raila Odinga Kenyans received the news with jubilation. Celebrations broke out in Kisumu perceived to be ODM stronghold, Kakamega, Eldoret, Bungoma, Nairobi and other towns across the country.A majority of Kenyans expressed joy at the signing of the political deal saying it marked the end of ethnic hatred and the start of the journey to recovery. They say the deal is most likely to improve the country’s stability in all sectors of development and bring unity in the nation. President Mwai Kibaki and ODM leader Raila Odinga signed a deal to end the political crisis facing the country for two months.
