FIDA wants quick resettlement of IDPs
The federation of Kenyan women-FIDA is asking the government to move with speed and resettle the internally displaced persons. The federation has noted that those in the camps a majority being women and children are living in poor conditions especially at this rainy season. Speaking during the launch of FIDA 2007 annual report, nominated Member of Parliament Milly Odhiambo called on the government to prioritize the issue of resettling all the internally displaced persons. Odhiambo said that FIDA is concerned with the stalemate still surrounding the national peace and reconciliation accord and wants the two warring sides to dialogue and find a lasting solution to the problem. The organization urged the politicians to put aside their personal and political interests and work together for the benefit of all Kenyans.
