Cabinet sworn in as Kenyans rejoice.

The swearing in ceremony of the coalition cabinet took place Thursday at State House Nairobi.

This follows the naming of the grand cabinet by President Mwai Kibaki on Sunday this week.

Former United Nations Secretary General Koffi Annan who also helped broker the peace agreement between ODM and PNU graced the occasion.

Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his two deputies were among a team of forty ministers and 52 assistant ministers sworn into office.

Among the new ministries in the coalition government includes Nairobi Metropolitan headed by Mutula Kilonzo, Planning, National Development and Vision 2030 led by Wycliffe Oparanya and Development of Northern Kenya and other Arid Lands with Ibrahim Elmi Mohamed the one in charge.

Some of the world leaders in attendance were Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni.

The cabinet now faces a hard task of reconstructing and reconciling the nation in the wake of food shortage, insecurity incidences and resettlement of the internally displaced people all these result of the post election skirmishes.

The move was created with jubilation across the country setting renewed hopes for the nation.
