Uasin Gishu residents asked to collect their IDs

Residents of Uasin Gishu District who had applied for identity cards have been asked to make effort in collecting them. Uasin Gishu Senior District Registrar of Persons Thomas Gekonde says he has received way over 5,000 identity cards from the ministry of immigration and registration of persons in Nairobi, awaiting collection in his office. At the same time, the registrar of persons revealed that his department recently carried out the same exercise of registering people in various IDP camps around the region. He asked the internally displaced persons to be patient as he waits for a feedback from Nairobi. Gekonde reiterated that the registration is still on. He called upon those who have attained eighteen years of age to come with the relevant requirements to apply for the same.
