Former Finance Minister reprimanded
Former Finance minister Amos Kimunya was yesterday reprimanded again in parliament for gross misconduct. This follows Kimunya’s allegations at a Thanksgiving ceremony in Kinangop last weekend saying that parliaments’ censure motion against him was driven by malice. National assembly speaker Kenneth Marende described Kimunya’s utterances at a public gathering over the weekend as improper and undignified to the stature of parliament. Marende expressed his outrage over the remarks, which he claimed, held parliament in disrepute drawing his ruling from precedent. Kimunya received a severe warning from the speaker over his remarks outside the chamber touching on investigations into the controversial sale of the Grand regency Hotele as he also warned MPs against commenting on substantive issues under investigations by parliament outside the chamber.
