Farmers affected by post poll violence ready for the harvest period.
Farmers who were assisted with farming inputs by the Catholic diocese of Eldoret are now giving part of their harvest to the church as a sign of appreciation. Speaking today at the diocese offices, Projects co-coordinator Meshark Rotich said, the church was able to assist more than 790 farmers who were affected by the post election violence that happened early this year. Rotich said most farmers were able to harvest 42 kilograms of beans which is a decrease attributed to increase in rainfall early in the year. The Projects co-coordinator stated that the Catholic diocese of Eldoret assisted farmers who were affected by the post poll violence from Kapkeldon, Yamumbi, Kipkelion and Kapsaret regions within Uasin Gishu district.
