Eldoret south Member of Parliament reacts on the IDPs
Following yesterday’s protests by the Internallly Displaced persons living in the Yamumbi camp Eldoret south Member of Parliament Peris Simam has now raised her voice. Simam says the government should come up with a way in which to identify genuine IDPs who deserve compensation. She said many of those who call themselves IDPs are opportunists seeking to benefit from the government’s funds. On Monday the IDPs demonstrated over what they termed as the government being partial in the way it is issung the 25,000 shillings meant to be used to build their homes. They lamented that the government has been too demanding including the demand for them that they show their original houses that were burnt down during the post election skirmishes.
