Parliament rejects Ringera’s re-appointment

Parliament Wednesday voted for two reports by the house committee calling for the nullification of the re-appointment of the Kenya Anti Corruption Commission director.

Aaron Ringera and his two deputies Fatuma Sichale and Smokin Wanjala might now be sent packing after the members of parliament disowned their appointments.

The house voted the two reports to annul the gazette notice appointing the KACC director and his deputies.

There was heated debate in the house with efforts by ministers Mutula Kilonzo and his counterpart Beth Mugo to oppose the motion failing to bear fruits.

However, according to attorney General Amos Wako, President Mwai Kibaki will not be compelled to implement parliaments’ decision.
