True reconciliation only comes between the warring communities
For true reconciliation to be realized in the country, the peace builders are being called upon to work with each community separately.
This is according to Babu Ayindo, a peace building activist in Kisumu who states that disaster is bound to happen if politics will take the centre stage in the process.
Ayindo added that reconciliation is a process therefore the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission might not be able to finish its mandate effectively within the 12 month time frame.
Meanwhile Ayindo has cautioned the media against trivializing the national issues saying the media should be in the forefront in ensuring a just and peaceful transition beyond the 2012 general elections.
e said it is sad to note that much emphasis is given to violence related issues rather than the positive reporting that is able to promote peaceful coexistence among Kenyans.
TJRC has been commissioned to address humanitarian crisis, political crisis, constitutional crisis and unemployment among the youth among other issues.
