Kwanza residents to get title deeds
Its good news for 144 residents of Namanjalala location in Kwanza district after the ministry of lands and settlement in a letter notified them that they will be receiving their land title deeds in the next three months.
Addressing the residents in Namanjalala farm the chairman of a taskforce that was in charge of the project Lawrence Nyongesa said that only those who had paid the required fee of 1010 shillings will be receiving their title deeds by December this year.
Nyongesa urged those who had not registered to receive their title deeds to do so by paying a survey fee of 1010 shillings.
Meanwhile, former Namanjalala councilor Alfred Wanambisi has blamed the location chief together with the taskforce chair for grabbing resident’s lands.
Wanambisi says genuine shareholders who have settled in the farms for the past 40 years have a right to get land title deeds.
He noted that cases of grabbing market plots have increased adding that people’s plots are being sold without their knowledge.
