Trans Nzoia Primary School pupils demonstrated in the streets of Kitale town today following allegations of grabbing the school’s land by Kitale Baptist Church.
School Chairman Francis Maina said that the alleged land grabbing started way back in 2005 and since then the church has grabbed 3 ha from the 5 ha the school owns.
The land was allocated to establish a new secondary school which had already started this year.
Saboti MP Eugine Wamalwa condemned those grabbing land in the larger Trans Nzoia district saying the situation was hindering development in the region.
The MP led the public in demolishing the church building as pupils went on with their demonstration.
