Fish FM was born out of a vision laid in Mr. Reuben Kigame’s heart back in the mid 1990s, but saw its implementation through the support of close ministry friends and the Word of Truth Ministries Advisory Board.


STATION MANAGEMENT


Our station is a division of Word of Truth Ministries, a Christian organization committed to the proclamation and defense of biblical Christianity.


Fish FM is managed by a special team appointed by the Advisory Board of Word of Truth Ministries which team is responsible for the management of the station as a sub-independent organ of WTM. The Director of WTM  participates in the decisions taken on Fish FM as they affect WTM’s vision and mission, which decisions are ultimately subjected to the authority of the Bible as the highest standard for WTM’s existence. Station policy and programming is regularly monitored by WTM in this light.

We are called ”Fish FM” because:



  1. We would like to be clearly identified as a Christian station as the ancient Christians identified followers of Christ through the Fish symbol.

  2. we are committed to “fishing“ those who are lost in the lies and profanity of our generation into the kingdom of Christ.

  3. We are committed to providing wholesome nutrition through what we air.

MOTTO: FISHING THE LOST AND FEEDING THE FOUND (Matthew 28:18-20; 4:18-20 and John 21:15-17)


VISION: To transform Kenya and the surrounding nations through the preaching and teaching of biblical truth.


MISSION: To persuade non-Christians to believe in Jesus Christ and to help all who believe to live by the teaching of the Bible.


PASSION: To introduce men and women to the rule of God and to take the good news to the farthest parts of the earth possible. As Psalm 97:1, which corresponds with our Eldoret frequency, declares: ”The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice.”


AREAS OF COVERAGE


Situated on Kenya’s Western Highlands on the outskirts of Eldoret town, Fish FM currently reaches various people within a radius of approximately 170Km.Our primary audience is the English-speaking inhabitants of Western, Nyanza and Rift Valley provinces of Kenya. It is our hope that we can obtain more frequencies around Kenya to allow us to expand to other cities.


Our ultimate goal is to reach all the urban centers of Kenya before spreading to Eastern Africa. We also hope to go onto the Internet and World Space in order to reach a wider audience.


STATION AIMS


We have four main aims:



  1. To evangelize – present the Gospel of Christ as the most effective tool for spiritual, social and economic transformation.

  2. To educate – share relevant knowledge to positively influence society towards productive, balanced and fulfilling lifestyles.

  3. To inform – responsibly report the happenings in society so that people know what is going on around them and respond accordingly.

  4. Entertain – build, comfort and bring wholesome pleasure through music, comic relief, debates, etc in a manner that builds on the above aims and leaves the listeners a better people.

PROGRAM POLICY


Fish FM airs programs that keeps with our aims and which are in agreement with our Statement of Faith. We dont not air any programs that blaspheme God, take advantage of listeners or are prejudicial in content. We also dont air any program whose sole purpose is to generate income and which have no spiritual or social significance.


ADVERTISING POLICY


Fish FM  only accepts paid external ads whose content and ultimate aims are in consonance with biblical Christianity and intended for the good of everyone in the society. Generic advertising aired on other stations may be reviewed and edited to fit this policy. Fish FM does not advertise anything that betrays the Scriptures, even if such an ad is from a professing Christian group. We dont advertise any form of drink or drug, service or agent that has been known to destroy or diminish the life of anyone in the society. No ad which exploits the listeners is aired on our station.
