Why Establish a Radio Station

We wish to establish a radio station as an effective medium for sharing the Good News and training the Body of Christ in biblical fundamentals. It is our hope that, through radio, we can significantly contribute to a positive transformation of the Kenyan society through biblical absolutes.We believe we can offer society a broadcast service other stations have failed to offer. We hope to positively use the airwaves to transform life in society by mentoring the youth and defending all members of the society against rampant deceptions. We do not wish to have just another radio station. We wish to positively influence everyone who tunes in, Christian and non-Christian alike. While some of our aims discussed later in this document may be similar to those of some stations, we believe that our unique approach to radio will give people exactly what they need from a radio station, i.e. balanced broadcasting.

RADIO BETTER THAN CHURCH PLANTING FOR WTM

As an interdenominational, evangelical organization, it is more fitting for WTM to establish a radio station than plant churches because:

The radio will help us to encourage the unity of various denominations as one Body of Christ;
We are not equipped for church planting and other groups are doing an excellent job;
The radio audience could be viewed as a big parish under the custody of WTM;

Here are some ways Kenya will benefit from the establishment of FishFM.

With the launch of this unique station we hope to see:

positive transformation in the lives of the youth
a more educated and informed society
a reduction in crime and corruption, and other related vices
the creation of between 20 and 50 new jobs
a decline in the spread of cultic heresies and dangerous occultic practices
Economic and social empowerment
Improvement of Kenyaâ€™s health standards
greater patriotism based on national pride and the Word of God
good neighbourliness, peaceful coexistence and social cohesion
a development of responsible leaders of tomorrow
an encouragement and enhancement of local arts and talents

Statement of Faith

Our operations as a station shall be governed by the following Statement of Faith of Word of Truth Ministries:

We believe:

In one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
In the transcendence, omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence and infallibility of God; in His creation, providence and sustenance of the world and all in it; infinitely wise, just and holy and in His love and clear communication to mankind, the apex of His creation.
In the divine inspiration, authority and inerrancy of the Bible as the Word of God,
In the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, His atonement for our sins through death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, ascension and in His imminent return as king and judge of all mankind.
In the personal responsibility for sin and redemption through a personal commitment to salvation by the atoning blood of Jesus Christ.
In the deity and power of the Holy Spirit to convict men and women of sin and by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
In the hope of the translation of the saints at the coming of Jesus Christ, and the Judgment of all mankind according to how they have lived their lives on earth.
In the reality of heaven as the eternal home of redeemed saints and reality of hell as eternal abode of the unredeemed as a result of rebellion against God and his offer of salvation through His son, Jesus Christ.
In the urgency of the Great Commission as a compulsory duty for every Christian as commanded by Jesus Christ and recorded in the Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles; and in the fulfillment of this task through various gifts as enabled by the Holy Spirit in the lives of Christians as members of the body of Christ.
