Dear Friend,

Receive greetings in the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ!

On behalf of the entire team at the Kigame Music Productions, Eldoret, we wish to invite you to a great musical event. To download a poster you can print and show, or email to friends, please right-click the image to the left and select “Save Target As…”.

The Sunday afternoon of 20th December (from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.) will be a time to remember! A brand-new collaboration album between Kenya’s Reuben Kigame and Tanzania’s veteran, Modest Morgan, will be launched at Nairobi Pentecostal Church on Valley Road.

Mr. Kigame has seventeen albums to his name including Wastahili Bwana, Ombi Langu, Never alone (Kenya’s Tribute to Country), God’s Reggae (in collaboration with his friend Douglas Jiveti), Unyite na Guoko, Amani Moyoni and his latest work released in January 2009, Tulia. Reuben’s songs are used in many churches around the world for worship.

Modest Morgan has several hits behind his name including songs such as Simba Wa Yuda, Naburudika and Hakuna Mungu Kama Wewe. He has released two albums backed up by the Kijitonyama Choir from Dar-es-salaam, namely, Hakuna Mungu Kama Wewe and Bendera Ya Ushindi.

Kigame and Morgan had always admired each other’s compositions and ministry before meeting early 2008. Their spirits bonded and, after a few jam sessions at Kigame’s studio in Eldoret, Kenya, an instant discussion about doing a joint album emerged. This was to be realized in September 2009 when Morgan was invited by Kigame as guest musician during the celebration of three years of Fish FM’s broadcasting. Fish FM was established by Kigame in 2006. The studio sessions took about a week, during which time the two song birds pulled out composition after another written specifically for this new dream project. They sat together in the garden, studio and house to write portions of some songs together. For the next two months, Kigame worked tirelessly to mix and ornament the album, bringing together some of the region’s best talent on the guitar and sax.

The result was an 11-track album featuring, among others, the East African Medley (pulling together two of Morgan’s songs and Kigame’s famous track, Mshukuruni Bwana), Njoo Sasa, by Kigame, Mwambie Yesu by Morgan, Hakuna Kama Yesu by Kigame, Jiandae by Morgan, Yesu Yuaja Tena by Kigame and Pigeni Kelele by Morgan. Featured on the album are three of their old songs, i.e. Itakufaidi Nini and Ombi Langu by Kigame and Naburudika by Morgan. There is a deliberate inclusion of an old anonymous song, Mataifa Yote, which serves to communicate the heart of this album: Bringing East Africa together in a great moment of worship through music! It has been the desire of the two brothers to show everyone in East Africa that God commands a blessing where brethren live and minister together in unity. They desire that East Africa totally destroys ethnic divisions and move quickly towards a united East Africa.

The album, however, stretches beyond East Africa in sound. Although it endeavours to capture East and Central Africa’s sound of the 70s and 80s, it does more. There is a unique blend of the musical traditions of both Kigame and Morgan. Notably, Morgan’s father is from Tanzania, but his mother is from Zambia. He spent most of his early years in Congo and learned how to play the guitar there. Kigame has a rich musical tradition, having grown up in Nyanza, the home of Benga, being himself from Western Kenya, and having gone to school in Thika and Nairobi. His strength, though, is his wide travelling and the internalization of the musical traditions of Europe, America and other parts of Africa. His big musical ear and experience gained through working with numerous artists from Africa and beyond, gives him a unique sound when he sits at his Living Water Studios to cook music.

If you are loking for a unique Gospel CD, you really must get “Njoo Sasa” by the two gentlemen, or better still, join them in concert on the 20th of December when, together with a live band, they will launch the album.

Featuring at the launch are expected veteran musicians such as the now born-again, Remi Ongala, Tobias Chidumule, Dr. Patrick Oyaro, Jemima Thiong’o and Reuben’s closest musical team, the Sifa voices. Dennis Wampayo and the Nova Musica team are also expected at the launch. The youth are not left out. Mercy Wairegi will be ministering at the launch too.

The band is expected to be quite a treat as well. On the bass guitar will be Congolese teacher of the Seben rhythms, Etienne Mangala. On the rhythm guitar will be Reuben Kigame, James Kahero and Modest Morgan. The Lead guitar will have the veteran hands of Bwamy Wa Lumona (former Mangelepa) and the young Congolese guitarist, Charles Muhindo. On the Sax will be Reuben’s friend, Timo Riungu. Dennis Milgo from Sifa Voices will be on Keyboards. On the drums will be Mato and crew.

Tickets for this great afternoon are available At the Kasanga Music Centres at Gil House and Moi Avenue and at Hope FM on Valley Road, Nairobi at kshs.300 per person.

Join all true music lovers and several dignitaries from Kenya and Tanzania in worshiping God the African way.

Officials of the Kenya farmers association have embarked on putting down measures on how to clear its debt at the National and Barclay’s banks if the government does not come in to their aid.
Uasin Gishu KFA director Kipkorir Menjo states that it was not a huge thing to revive the company but the process of revamping had been derailed by those wanting to profit illegally from the association.
Menjo stated that those who had tried to grab KFA assets had already sold some of the assets and that not much is owed to the banks at the moment.
Initially KFA owed the National bank about 400 million shillings but according to Menjo KFA assets which have already been sold is almost the total amount they owed the bank.
They now want the banks to give them the actual figure of the money KFA currently owes the banks.

In an aim to help contain the spread of HIV and AIDS in the region, doctors and clinical officers have underwent a training on the proper presentation of data collected to be transformed into useful information.

Citing that proper presentation of data minimizes mistakes in programming and budgeting the National Aids and STI Control {NASCOP} Programme Coordinator Dr. Orinda George said that many health facilities had not embraced data in their workstations which is very vital.

Speaking at a press conference in Eldoret, Orinda revealed that through the training the health facilities will get the importance of presentation of data in minimizing resources to be used in an organized manner after analyzing and presenting information.

He added that the ministry of health had tried to implement the use of data in making work easier but they were challenged by the fact that inadequate facilities and infrastructure was pulling them down.

He is calling on the government to sensitize all health workers on importance of presentation of data for better planning and budgeting of resources to be put in place for control of spread of HIV and AIDS.

Just hours before international Criminal Court prosecutor Louis Morenno Ocampo jets in the country ,several issues are being raised on who he should particularly meet for the talks concerning the post election violence that rocked the country two years ago.
The center for human rights and democracy in Eldoret today organized a one day forum with the victims and widows of the post election violence to discuss on how they will present their views to Ocampo.
Executive Director, Center for Human Rights and Democracy in Eldoret Ken Wafula has said that its high time the victims, widows and potential witnesses are given a date with the International Criminal Court prosecutor.
Wafula added that it was not human to meet the suspects of the violence while the issues of the victims had not been dealt with together with letting them air out their grievances.
At the same time Wafula called on the government to inform the public what plans they have in addressing the issues affecting the lives of post election violence victims apart from relocating them from IDP camps.

As the International criminal court chief prosecutor Louis Moreno Ocampo is expected in the country on Thursday this week, the victims and survivors of the post election violence could get a chance to meet with him.

Speaking during a forum to give the victims legal advice on matters of transitional justice, former Kabete Member of Parliament who is also a renowned lawyer Paul Muite, said it is not enough for Ocampo to only meet with the two principles without hearing the side of the victims too.

Muite said the victims must be given a chance to present their petition immediately Ocampo arrives.

The former Member of Parliament is now asking the two principles to allow Ocampo to formally begin investigations into the post election violence.

Muite stated that justice must be served for the survivors of the post election poll and asked the MPs to support the special tribunal bill currently in parliament saying the bill will be a beneficial to the victims in that it gives allocation to the issue of compensation of the survivors.

Most of the victims and survivors who attended the forum organized by the Eldoret centre for human rights and democracy were either shot by the police or injured by the militia and resolved that the chief suspects be taken to The Hague.
