There is no ritual or work to be done in order to come to Christ. It is as easy ABC!
A-Admit that You are a Sinner
God created man and gave him the ability to make moral choices. Man chose to sin. God is holy and just. All have sinned (Romans 3:23). There’s none who is righteous according to God’s standard. In God’s justice, sin must be punished by death (Romans 6:23). Death here means separation from God. Since man was created by God and for God, separation from God leaves man miserable and empty. Moreover, sin is rebellion against God and will lead to eventual condemnation and punishment from God. Yet the situation is not hopeless. God has offered a perfect solution for our sins.
Man could never match up to God’s standard of holiness, but because of God‘s unmerited favor (grace), mercy and love, God took on a human body in order to take, once and for all, the judgment of sin upon himself. Jesus took the penalty for your sin and in exchange offered his righteousness. He was crucified, died and was buried, but on the third day he rose again from the dead and is now in heaven preparing a place for all who believe in him. All you have to do to partake of this privileged is to believe in him (John 5:24).
C-Choose Christ Today You have to make the personal choice to believe in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins. The Bible says that if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that God raised Jesus from the dead you will be saved. Will make that choice today? Will you ask Jesus into your heart for the forgiveness of sin and for eternal life? If you believe in Jesus and would like to be saved, you can tell Jesus about it right now. It’s not magic; it’s just an expression of your commitment to him from now hence forth. You can pray on your own or you could say this prayer meaningfully:
Dear heavenly Father
I acknowledge that I am a sinner.
I believe that your son Jesus Christ can forgive all my sins
and make me a new creation.
Fill me with your Holy Spirit
That I may from now hence forth, live for you alone
In Jesus’ Name
AMEN
